Danny Minogue is the founder and Chief Executive Officer of Minogue Medical Inc., a Canadian leader in advanced surgical technologies, healthcare simulation, and metabolic and bariatric nutrition. Over the past 40 years, Danny has helped transform Canadian healthcare by introducing game-changing technologies and building trusted partnerships across clinical, academic, and procurement communities.
Since founding the company in 1986, Danny has grown Minogue Medical into a national force with three integrated divisions: surgical devices (including the da Vinci robotic system), clinical simulation for healthcare training, and nutrition solutions supporting bariatric surgery and medical obesity management. He also leads Polymed Surgical, a sister company specializing in essential hospital supplies.
Danny began his career in 1981 at U.S. Surgical before launching Minogue Medical, driven by a passion for improving surgical care. Today, the company is known not only for its technological leadership but also for its commitment to education and patient outcomes.
Under Danny’s leadership, Minogue Medical has introduced numerous industry-first solutions to Canada, helping clinicians access innovations that enhance surgical precision, improve recovery, and increase system efficiency. He is also an early investor in medtech startups and a mentor to healthcare entrepreneurs through the McGill Clinical Innovation Platform (CLIP), where he provides guidance on commercialization and adoption.
In addition to his entrepreneurial work, Danny is a committed community builder. A former elite ski racer and member of the Alpine Canada Can-Am Squad, he served as Chair of Alpine Canada’s Board of Directors and co-chaired the 2012 Ride to Conquer Cancer in Montreal, raising over $7 million for cancer research. He is the founder of the Minogue Award of Excellence, celebrating high-performance athletes in alpine ski racing.
Danny was twice named a finalist for Ernst & Young’s Entrepreneur of the Year for his leadership in health innovation and business growth. Today, he is proud to be leading a multigenerational family business with his son Marc and wife Elyce and supporting expansion into new markets.
